The academy is run by two energetic mothers who have been in the industry collectively for over 20 years. They have studied and performed a variety of dance styles ranging from classical to ballroom to disco freestyle and street, along with being vocally trained. Our new teacher is Emily MacDonald.
All our classes are run in an encouraging & fun way really trying to engage with our students to gain their full potential.

A.I.S.T.D Disco Freestyle
Principal Teacher
Lenise started learning Tap dancing at a very young age and knew straight away that dancing would always be a huge part of her life. So at 5 years old she joined the ‘Betty Bouston School of Dance’ and started to train in Disco Freestyle, Rock & Roll, Ballroom & Latin. Lenise trained very hard and enjoyed every minute and in her 24 years there she completed her exams to an advanced level and then went on to teach for Betty.
During Lenise’s time being an amateur dancer trained professionally by former ISTD DFR Vice-chairman, the late ‘Miss Betty Bouston’, she took part in many productions and achieved a high standard in competitions. These times were some of her fondest memories and looks forward to seeing her students do the same.
At the age of 19 Lenise started working for the original ‘Jumpin’ Jaks’ as part of the Entertainment Team and was given the role of Dance Captain. Within this role Lenise choreographed routines, regularly put on shows and co-ran Entertainment Nights.
At college Lenise studied performing arts and over the years knew that she was the one who wanted to be the dance teacher!
So after many years of training and teaching and bringing a beautiful girl into the world Lenise has decided to move to Sunny Dorset and open Starlight Academy.
